Kalamunda is located in the hills of Perth which is 35km east of Perth city. Originally, the Kalamunda and Lesmurdie parish were one, but as numbers grew, Lesmurdie and Kalamunda separated and in 1943, Kalamunda parish was established. The Kalamunda church on Burt Street opened in 1954.

Today, Rev Fr Anand Reddy is the parish priest and there are over 150 families committed to the parish.
